I have a macbook pro running on Lion operating system version 10.7.2. I have a pc version of zoo tycoon 2 that I would like to play on my mac because i can't find a mac version anywhere. i've read many articles about download zoo tycoon 2 without a disk but most reference that their download (version 1.0 or 1.0.1 or 1.1.0) will work with mac version 10.2.8 or higher...which leads me to believe that things have changed a bit since then since my mac is many many updates later. basically, what should i do? i really want to get this game to work but i also don't want to download something that it turns out won't work with lion or will mess up my computer..
XP professional didn't work for me so i pulled out some other software, xp home edition for use with dell computer. worked with virtualbox!! virtualbox probably works well with other programs, i mean i got the windows window up and running, but my goal is to get zoo tycoon 2 working and there's just too many issues. i'm assuming vbox needs to go through some updates...zoo tycoon 2 needs more graphics or drivers or something that i just couldn't figure out!
A free-form game allows you to create the zoo of your choice, the only restrictions being space, animals and objects. The players money supply is unlimited, and all items are available from the beginning from the game (except items that have be to unlocked in the other game modes). Free-form games begins with an empty zoo, to which the player adds animal exhibits and guest facilities, hiring employees to staff and maintain them. The player chooses a plot of land for their zoo to be built upon the at the start of the Free-form game, and each land represents a different biome.
Each plot of land is also a different size. The player must accommodate their animals with spacious enclosures, adequate food and water, animal enrichment objects, shelters for them to sleep or gain privacy in, and environments. The player must also provide for the guests, which is done by placing food and drink stands, bathrooms, picnic areas, seating, trash and recycling bins and playground around the zoo. The player can create a range of elevated and lowered terrain types, including hills, valleys, cliffs and ditches. In addition to free-form mode, there is also a campaign mode in which the player chooses a campaign to play through and is placed in the shoes of an average zoo owner and is assigned different goals to complete; these goals may include having to breed tapirs, train dolphins, rescuing abused animals and more.

Download the Zoo Tycoon app on your Mac PC, as it features three modes: Scenario, Challenge, and Freestyle. In the Scenario mode, you can take control of a preset scenario in which you need to accomplish multiple objectives within a certain time period. New items will be unlocked easily while in the game when the scenario progresses. In the Challenge mode, the player will be limited with funds and must accomplish certain goals. It is not progressive like the Scenario mode of Zoo Tycoon on MacBook. The Freestyle mode differs in each gaming series, but it will usually leave the player to freely build a zoo from scratch however they see it. When the animals are released from their enclosure, they will kill the visitors who visit the zoo.
